As a web designer at Back40 Design I’ve had the pleasure of working directly with our clients on various projects, from websites to print projects and even logo designs. This direct relationship between client and designer allows me to deliver projects that hit the mark and accomplish the client’s goals.
Iron Horse is a full-service property management company in Crested Butte, Colorado owned by Steve and Jennifer Ryan. From the moment our sales team met with Steve, he made it clear to us he was picky and needed a very upscale and original looking design! Steve says, “I am confident that if you can please me, then you can please ANYONE.”
Pleasing Steve and creating a unique and functional site for Iron Horse was our mission. Our initial design meeting — like all of our design meetings — took place in person. We talked about his business, his vision, and his desires for Iron Horse. I enjoy having direct client contact to ensure that I realize the client’s vision with my design creativity.
After the design meeting I considered the two audiences of multi-millionaire homeowners and individual vacation renters — as well as the town of Crested Butte, the functionality needs for the site, and of course, Steve’s vision for the design.
Once I presented the first draft of the design, Steve and I worked through some changes. I further developed the photos for his site, and ultimately delivered a website which he loves! Even the competition in Crested Butte has told Iron Horse that the website is incredible.
Steve was so thrilled with his web design that he gave Back40 the opportunity to work with him on his business cards and postcards, which were also a big hit. The business cards and postcards are branded with the same look and feel as the website, which delivers a nice professional presentation for Iron Horse.
