Back40 Design Developer, Scott Stubblefield, and I spent a few hours at the Francis Tuttle Web Design & Development Department yesterday. We spoke on an industry panel and judged a student competition called the “Quack Awards.”
The students asked great questions and offered great topics for discussion. Topics covered were designing for mobile devices, content management systems, web design tools, portfolio preparation, social networking, ratio of women to men in our industry, working environments, typical project timelines and starting incomes for new designers.
The panel included developers and designers from Price Edwards & Company, The Worx Company, Studio fj, and Francis Tuttle Technology Center.
Thanks to Christy Whitfield, Web Design & Development Instructor, for putting together a great opportunity to visit with up-and-coming industry professionals.
