If the drawing style looks familiar, it might be because I was a syndicated cartoonist in the 1990s with a comic strip called DAVE. DAVE was syndicated in 160 newspapers worldwide including The San Francisco Examiner, The Chicago Tribune, and the Dallas Morning News.
