Search Engine Optimization

search-engine-optimizationWork smarter, not harder

Naturally, when you create a website for your business, you dream big and want instant success! It's as if Kevin Costner is whispering in your ear, "if you build it, they will come." Certainly, you want Internet users to find your field of dreams amongst the thousands of websites available. (Or at least someone other than your mom to review your hard work.)

At Back40 Design, we understand this important fact. Our experts develop websites to be accessible for both end users and search engines. Each site is optimized for the Internet in order for your website to work smarter, not harder. We pride ourselves on ensuring search engines, web indexes, and online users can easily find your webpage.

How does Back40 Design help my website?

We make it easier for search engines to quickly seek your web page by designing our websites in CSS (tableless design). This cuts down on the amount of backend code used to display web pages. Search engines (such as Yahoo®, Google®, MSN®, and more) prefer our tableless design method because it increases the ratio of "content-to-code" for their parsing and indexing.

Without getting into too much "geek speak" - we will say simply - we make life easier for the search engines.

Also, in our process of building a website, we take extra precautions to properly name headings, subheadings, pages, indexes, and other "behind the scenes" features of a web page so that as the visible content builds on your front end for users to see, the back end of the website code is equally enhancing your website's ability to be found.

This includes a common web term, "friendly urls"... (Not that other urls are scary monsters hiding under your bed, but ours do not hide the name of your page with odd things like ".com/php?=#$%^sqlserver!@&*12345" - our links will plainly say "www.Back40Design.com/homepage")

How is general website optimization different from Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Back40 Design optimizes all websites as a part of our standard development process, and detailed reporting for each website is provided standard for all customers.

However, search engine optimization (SEO) is special.

There are 2 main phases: Research & Coding

Research Phase: We utilize special, individualized research to show clients what can optimize your particular website more effectively.

    • The SEO Research process consists of studying your industry to select the correct keywords and phrases that generate the most effective web results.
    • The SEO Research goal is to find the optimum wording that would highlight your website to the search engines. The research creates the correct action plan for web coding.
    • Typically, at least 8 hours of research is needed to fully be effective.

Coding Phase: We utilize these research results to generate valuable changes to your website code.

  • The SEO Coding process consists of taking those research results and bringing that action plan to life for your website.
  • The SEO Coding goal is to integrate these keyword results into your website structure to bring you the high search engine optimization you're seeking.
  • Typically, an additional 8 hours of coding is needed to complete the process.

For Example: We can run SEO reports on 10 keywords to see which websites within your industry rank the best. We then analyze those websites and see what methods they are using to get their high search engine rankings.

Through new web coding, meta-tags, and special keyword integration, our goal is to place you amongst those top ranking websites. We want to give you the advantage over competitors who have no optimization features.

Is SEO only a one time website upgrade?

Back40 Design can run an SEO report, finalize research, and change web coding as a special one-time project. However, we also offer ongoing SEO support for a minimal monthly fee.

Our SEO clients can receive monthly check-ups and revisions to their code. The on-going monitoring of these statistics ensures that as the Internet grows and advances, your website remains efficiently high among search engine rankings.

How do I get SEO?

If you type your product name or company name into Google or Yahoo Search but are not listed in their results. You have a problem. Back40 SEO can help.
