The benefit garage sale was a huge success. We collected over $5,900 for Teddy’s chemo treatments.
We began setting up after work on Friday. Friends and strangers delivered truckloads of items for sale. When the set up was complete it was nearly 2:30 AM and half of the parking lot was full. A few of Teddy’s friends (and family) volunteered to sleep outside.

Two issues ago, Back40 News poked a little fun at our managing editor, Teddy Burch’s slip and slide accident – and subsequent trip to the emergency room. It turns out that was really the beginning of the story.
Within hours of his examination, Teddy was in surgery. Within days of his surgery, Teddy was diagnosed with cancer. And since his diagnosis, we have come to learn that the cancer is very aggressive. As you read this, it’s very likely that Teddy is sitting in a room with other cancer patients receiving day-long treatments of chemotherapy. Teddy’s chemo schedule is essentially one week on, followed by one week off. The program of treatment is for 9 weeks.

A home-based, Web-design company in Prague recently was honored by the State Department of Tourism and Recreation for its Web site designed for the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.Dave Miller, Webmaster, designer and developer of Back 40 Design Inc., said his company’s Web site earned a Red Bud Award at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism held at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in downtown Tulsa.
