Search Engine
A program used by a search service. When you send a request such as a keyword to a search engine, your request is checked against the index that the engine has already compiled.

An inappropriate attempt to use a mailing list or other networked communications facility as if it were a broadcast medium (which it is not) by sending the same message to a large number of people who didn't ask for it
