Mail Server
A server that sends, receives and stores e-mail.

Meta Data
Data that describes data. For example, the title, subject, author, and size of a document constitute meta data about the document.

A personal information/e-mail manager, part of Microsoft Office.

A proprietary Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) that uses Structured Query Language (SQL) for managing data.

MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions)
An Internet standard for transferring various file formats.
Mirror
A server that provides copies of the same files as another server. Some servers are so popular that other servers have been set up to mirror them and spread the load to more than one site.

Modem
(MOdulator, DEModulator) -- A device that you connect to your computer and to a phone line, that allows the computer to talk to other computers through the phone system. Basically, modems do for computers what a telephone does for humans.

An open source web browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation and hundreds of volunteers. Mozilla Firefox was originally known as "Phoenix" and briefly as "Mozilla Firebird".
