In a recent study conducted by comScore, Inc., 76.8 million people in the U.S. owned smartphones as of May 2011. There is no doubt that this number will continue to rise.
Statistics show that one out of every seven searches are conducted by mobile users. This figure has quadrupled since last year. Of those using mobile devices to search, one in three are local searches.
Statistics also show that after Smartphone users look up a local business, 61 percent call it and 59 percent visit the business.
