An address that specifies the location of a file or web page on the Internet. Most URLs contain three parts: the protocol, the host name, and the folder or file name. Ex: www.back40design.com

URL Structure

URL structure describes how pages in your site are located to one another. An SEO friendly URL structure follows two rules: 1) it's short and 2) it contains keywords.

SEO friendly:

  • http://mywebsite.com/specific-keyword/another-specific-keyword-relating-to-the-last

SEO unfriendly:

  • http://mywebsite.com/random-page/another-random-page/keyword/
