Giving Back to Oklahoma City
Community Literacy Centers
www.communityliteracy.com
According to the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, there are
approximately 137,000 Oklahoma City adults that can't read. Roughly 80% of these people possess some form of learning disability. CLC services approximately 1,000 adults each year -- of which almost 85 percent live below the poverty level.
Literacy is a cause that Back40 cares about. Working with CLC, Back40 built its site from soup to nuts -- helping a worthy organization get the word out about their important services.
Oklahoma Autism Alliance
www.okautism.org
The OFCA is a new leadership forum that provides a way for organizations operating in the
state of Oklahoma to share information and help each other advance the
cause of families affected by autism. The OFCA is a resource and
leadership forum for group leaders in Oklahoma who have a passion for serving those communities and organizations
Families with autistic members need answers, and a place to trade information with other affected families. Back40 built OAU a forum website that provides those families with a safe place to trade ideas and feelings about their difficulties.
Red Earth Museum
www.redearth.org
The Red Earth Museum hosts a respected permanent
collection of more than 1,400 items of Native American fine art,
pottery, basketry, textiles, and beadwork. Exhibits feature widely
acclaimed traveling exhibitions, as well as such prized permanent
exhibits as the Deupree Cradleboard Collection.
The organizatiion's educational services operate year-round, drawing from exhibits, workshops, demonstrations, and seminars that showcase art, dance, music, and literature.
From design to execution, Back40 created a site allowing this Native American educational institution to get the word out about its museum, educational programs and public festivals.
Equine Therapy Center

ETC
uses the equine experience as a tool for emotional growth and learning for children.
The program isn't limited to only the art of riding, but also utilizes
the task of caring for horses and the bonds that form through this
caring as a means to establish trust, respect and responsibility.
The goal of the program is to motivate, diminish anxieties, develop
trust, learn self-evaluation, increase self-esteem and develop or
enhance socialization skills.
Children are important to Back40, and ETC makes a difference in the lives of hundreds of disabled kids each year. Giving the ETC the opportunity to broadcast their message and goals on the Internet was a privilege and joy for Back40.
